Mounting a device on the cold plate
Rev. CUpdated 2026-09-30
Mount a device on the temperature-controlled cold plate so that calibration and measurement share the same thermal boundary.
Before you start
Switch the heating current off and confirm the door interlock indicator is green. Let the cold plate reach its set temperature.
Mount the device
- Clean the cold plate and device baseplate with isopropyl alcohol.
- Apply thermal grease in a thin, even layer, or place the TIM pad for TDIM measurements.
- Position the device with the fixture pins and tighten the clamp to the torque in the table below.
- Connect the heating, sense and gate leads to the DUT connector panel.
| Package | Clamp torque | Fixture |
|---|---|---|
| TO-247 | 0.6 N·m | F-TO247 |
| 62 mm module | 3.0 N·m | F-M62 |
| EconoDUAL | 3.0 N·m | F-ECD3 |
Note
Use the same fixture and torque for calibration and measurement. Remounting the device invalidates the K-factor.
